All council meetings in Seguin will be in the afternoon next year

Seguin Township will not have any morning council meetings next year.  At this morning’s meeting, council passed the council meeting schedule for 2017 which included no 9:00am meetings.  Clerk Craig Jeffrey told council the reason morning meetings were held in the summer months was to allow for cottagers to attend before heading home.  Rod Osbourne and other members of council noted that not many cottagers have taken advantage of the morning meetings and supported having all afternoon meetings.  Councillor Dale Graves suggested having evening meeting would work better for residents who work and would eliminate the need for dinner being brought in for council on longer meetings, but that request didn’t make it into the final decision.  There will still be two meetings per month except for December, January, February, and March where there will only be one.
