A great coordinated effort has saved a life in Carling

The quick response of a lifeguard and emergency services has helped save a life.  Yesterday morning, a man had a heart attack on his dock in Carling and Fire Chief Gord Harrison says luckily it was across from a local camp.

Harrison says the fire department was called as they are a part of the tiered response for EMS calls in Carling.

The man stopped breathing a second time, but by then, Parry Sound EMS had arrived and they were able to getting him breathing again on his own and transported him to West Parry Sound Health Centre.

Harrison says he’s proud of the way everyone worked together.

The last he heard, the man was breathing on his own in hospital on his way to recovery.
