Two local high schools came out on top at 13th annual Georgian College Hospitality Competition

It was a one, two finish for our local high schools at the 13th annual Georgian College Hospitality Competition.   Yesterday, students from 19 secondary schools across central Ontario including Parry Sound High School and Almaguin Highlands Secondary School competed in cooking, baking and restaurant service competitions.  Zachary Ouellete and Krysten Walkinshaw from AHSS came in first in the cooking category with Darryn Hrycyna and Justin Denman from PSHS coming in second in the cooking category.  Each team member from the first place team gets a $1,500 scholarship and second place team members get $1,000 scholarships for Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation programs at Georgian College.  The scholarships are held in trust by the college and students have five years to use them.
