The 2016 budget is ready to be presented for council’s approval. Last night, council and staff met to discuss this year’s budget after a direction was made two weeks ago to add more items to the budget that follow the strategic plan. Director of Finance Trevor Pinn explains that all the items originally cut that council identified as a priority were added back in and council approved the result.
Pinn says many of the items added back are part of strategic plan initiatives.
He says he’s pleased to see the budget passed in a timely fashion so staff can get to work.
The entire capital and operating budgets for 2016 will be brought to council for final approval on February 16th.
