First time Renters need to know their rights

If your son or daughter is going off to post-secondary school and it s their first time renting a place, they need to know their rights as tenants. Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Ted McMeekin warns about landlords who ask for more than they are entitled to.

Renting a place for the first time can be stressful for a young post-secondary student. Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Ted McMeekin passes on some helpful advice.

 

Finding off-campus housing can be a worry for post-secondary students, especially if they have never signed a rental contract before. Ted McMeekin, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing says there are numbers you can call to get more information on your rights as a tenant.
