Two locals are facing a slew of charges after an OPP drug bust in Parry Sound turned up with over $10,000 in drugs and cash.
On Thursday (February 24th), multiple OPP units executed a drug warrant at a residence on Great North Road. One 38-year-old Parry Sound woman and a minor were arrested and together face a variety of charges.
The 38-year-old was charged with:
- Theft under $5000, contrary to Section 334(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Mischief, contrary to Section 430(1)(a) CC
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA)
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs, contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
The minor was charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Obstruct peace officer, contrary to Section 129(a) CC
- Assault a peace officer, contrary to Section 270(1)(a) CC (two counts)
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA)
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs, contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
According to police, officers seized over $9,000 of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine and over $1,100 in cash. The 38-year-old is set to appear at court in Parry Sound on March 31st.
