Parry Sound closes park amenities during COVID-19 outbreak

PARRY SOUND, ON-In order to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Parry Sound is closing park amenities until further notice.

Following the emergency order made by the Ontario Government on March 30th, all recreational and outdoor amenities are to close to the public. This closure includes sports courts, fields, dog parks, skate parks, playgrounds, picnic shelters, and other park facilities.

Jessie Langford from the Town of Parry Sound said that the hope with this closure of park amenities is that it will promote physical distancing and help flatten the curve of spreading the virus all while still having people go out for walks.
