Bans on burning implemented for West Parry Sound Municipalities

PARRY SOUND, ON-In order to reduce the chance of fires and the concerns of spreading the COVID-19 virus, West Parry Sound Municipalities are banning daytime and evening open-air burning.

Effective April 6th, fires for burning debris will be prohibited while only campfires for cooking and warmth will be allowed.

McDougall Fire Chief Brian Leduc told the MyParrySoundNow.com newsroom that this restriction will help stop any possible fires that could have firefighters come in contact with someone who may be carrying the virus.

For more information about the restrictions that will be in effect until further notice, visit the McDougall Municipality site here.
