Police arrest driver on Highway 400 believed to be impaired

A Springwater Township man faces drug charges after being pulled over as a suspected drunk driver.  Southern Georgian Bay OPP were told of a possible impaired driver heading north on Highway 400 in Georgian Bay Township around 3:30am Friday morning.  Police stopped the suspect vehicle near Twelve Mile Bay Road and a roadside investigation found a quantity of cash and what appeared to be crack cocaine.  The 20-year-old has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.  The man was also wanted by Barrie police in relation to a criminal investigation so he was turned over to Barrie Police Services and held for bail.  He’ll appear before a Midland court at a later date.
