Police in Orillia uncover fake US currency

Police are warning the public to look out for fake US cash.  Ontario Provincial Police on Orillia heard from businesses that counterfeit American money was being used to make purchases last month.  OPP Crime Unit interviewed several witnesses and video evidence and were able to identify the two people responsible.  A 27-year-old man from Toronto and a 24-year-old from Orillia have been charged with Producing Counterfeit Money, Possession of Counterfeit Money and Fraud under $5,000 dollars and will appear in court September 2nd.  The United States currency was in $50.00 and $100.00 denominations and anyone who comes across counterfeit bills of any kind are asked to bring it to their police detachment.
