The council for Carling will discuss the business of the township tonight. On the agenda is a resolution to support the Town of Penetanguishene in their call for all small town and rural Ontario municipalities to lobby for a moratorium on all school closures until the administrative process on accommodation reviews is completed by the Provincial Government. Council will also discuss a resolution for the Province to take back the responsibility for policing small municipalities with a population of 5,000 or less. There will also be a deputation from the West Parry Sound SMART Community along with a resolution for council’s consideration to support their initiative in principle. The meeting gets started at 7:00pm in the council chambers.
