A Magnetawan man is is being handed steep fines for illegal deer hunting practices.
According to a report from the MNRF the man shot across a roadway to kill a deer.
He then dumped the deer over a bridge into the Magnetawan River.
Justice of the Peace Cornelia Mews heard the case in a Sundridge court earlier this month. She handed the man $4500 in fines for his actions.
That’s $1500 for hunting deer out of season, $1500 for abandoning and letting deer meat become unsuitable for human consumption, and $1500 for shooting a firearm across a travelled part of a roadway.
