Union Reps ask government to take control of Children’s Aid Society

Union leaders are calling on the government to take over control of the Children’s Aid Society of Parry Sound and Nipissing.
The workers at the Children’s Aid have been in a lockout over 100 days. Their employers locked them out over disagreements on workload management and sick leave policy.
Now Union Leaders are asking the Ministry of Children and Youth Services to take over CAS of Parry Sound and Nipissing.
CUPE cites growing concerns that people aren’t getting the support and care they need from CAS.
Since the beginning of the lockout the Board of Directors have assured the public that there has been no change to the services they provide the public.
