The 10th and final anniversary of the Joe’s Team Triathlon event will be held this year. The non-competitive triathlon and duathlon was started in 2007 by the late Joe Finley and his wife Cara after Joe completed his first sprint triathlon while undergoing cancer treatment. Finley says the event has turned into one of Canada’s most successful grassroots fundraisers.
She says this tenth anniversary of the event will be the last one.
The event has raised over $11 million for the Joe Finley Centre for Head and Neck Cancer at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. This year’s event is being held at the CNIB Lake Joseph Centre in Mactier this Saturday beginning at 9:00am. For more details on how to participate or to donate, visit www.joesteam.ca.
