Speeding through West Parry Sound has cost a 23-year-old driver his vehicle and licence for a week. West Parry Sound OPP was doing radar on Highway 400 in Carling Township Wednesday afternoon when they watched a north bound vehicle speed by just after 1:00pm. Police pulled over the vehicle for stunt driving and the driver from Lively was arrested and charged with racing. The charge carries a week-long licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for a week. He’ll face his charge in a Parry Sound court next month. Every one convicted of racing could face a fine between $2,000 and $10,000 or up to six months in jail, or both, in addition to their driver’s licence being suspended.
