Parry Sound launches survey as part of town-wide parking study

The Town of Parry Sound is undertaking a parking study to better understand how parking throughout town is currently being used, and to plan for the community’s future needs.

Officials say the study will help identify opportunities to improve parking availability, convenience, and overall efficiency for residents, businesses, workers and visitors.

LEA Consulting Ltd. has been hired to undertake the study, and will support the town by reviewing current parking conditions, identifying needs and opportunities and development recommendations for future improvements.

“LEA was selected based on its experience and expertise in transportation and parking planning, and will support the Town by reviewing current parking conditions, identifying needs and opportunities, and developing recommendations for future improvements,” states a notice on the Town website about the study. “Through this work, the study will provide a strong foundation for informed decision-making and help the Town plan for parking in a way that supports residents, businesses, and visitors.”

Two online surveys – one for residents and visitors, and one for business owners – are now live online. The surveys will close June 29.
