Traffic stop in Carling leads to seizure of suspected cocaine, heroin

Two people from the Hamilton area are facing dug trafficking charges and more after a traffic stop on Highway 69.

The OPP says on June 26, a vehicle was stopped around 10:00 p.m. in Carling Township for speeding. The driver was arrested for stunt driving, and an investigation revealed suspected cocaine and heroin estimated at about $100,000.

Along with drug trafficking and stunt driving, charges also include open liquor, driving with cannabis readily available, property obtained by crime and more.

Both accused were held for a bail hearing and have a Parry Sound court date in late July.
