West Parry Sound OPP investigating death on Georgian Bay

West Parry Sound OPP are investigating a death on Georgian Bay that occurred after a vessel capsized.

According to police, around 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 13, officers with the local OPP Marine Unit, Carling Fire Department and Killbear Marina responded to a vessel capsizing on Georgian Bay, north of Franklin Island.

Police say the deceased and sole occupant of the vessel has been identified as a 67-year-old from California.

The vessel was removed from Georgian Bay.

An OPP investigation is ongoing.
