The West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC) was just awarded Accreditation Canada’s (AC) highest possible rating.
Officials say the local hospital was accredited “with Exemplary Standing” by the national surveying body for health care quality and safety standard for the third time in a row.
WPSHC Officials say the decision came after a comprehensive onsite visit in May, that saw a team of AC surveyors assess the centre.
“Using 2157 quality and safety standards, the survey team assessed every aspect of WPSHC operations,” say officials. “By meeting these standards, providers can be confident that the care they are providing is aligned with best practices in the health care field.”
Hospital CEO, Donald Sanderson, says achieving Exemplary Standing once again is an immense achievement and a credit to the dedication and talent of the centre’s staff.
“We greatly appreciate the final report from Accreditation Canada, as it is always a useful tool to both illustrate and celebrate our successes and to identify opportunities in our journey of continuous quality improvement.” Sanderson says.
