Long term care residents at Lakeland LTC will be the first to get a shot of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine in the region.
Residents in West Parry Sound will begin receiving their first vaccinations today.
The 110 resident home co-located with West Parry Sound Health Centre, has been planning and preparing for this day for weeks now.
In a memo sent Tuesday, Lakeland LTC CEO, Donald Sanderson was thankful, stating that the team is fully prepared to receive the vaccine and provide it to all consenting residents at Lakeland.
All residents at Lakeland will receive their first of two doses by next week, as per the provincial guidance.
No word yet on when residents at Belvedere Heights will be getting their doses, but centre officials are reassuring the public that their turn will come in the next few days.
