The clean waters at Waubuno Beach are getting some recognition.
Parry Sound’s local beach has been recognized with the Blue Flag.
The Blue Flag is awarded by Environmental Defence in Canada, an environmental action group. It shows that a beach is clean, sustainably managed and meets high safety standards.
The flags are in 47 countries on over 4000 beaches, and are managed internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education.
The Blue Flag was awarded to 27 beaches and eight marinas in Canada this year.
