Driver gives police someone else’s driver’s licence in traffic stop

Police have charged a Barrie man with obstruction after he gave out a false name and someone else’s driver’s licence.  On Febraury 20th, Almaguin Highlands pulled over a vehicle after a traffic complaint on Highway 11 in Perry Township.  The driver gave the officer someone else’s driver’s licence and the next day officers tried to find the driver.  This past Wednesday, police were able to find the driver and the 30-year-old was arrested and charged with obstructing police, identity fraud, failure to have insurance card, and numerous other Highway Traffic Act offences.  He was held until a bail hearing last Friday and will face his charges at a later date.
