A plan to transform the former William Beatty School into affordable housing has been approved.
Council passed a by-law at last night’s meeting to approve the site plan and registration of the development agreement with the Parry Sound Affordable Housing Development Corporation. The plan includes 55 residential units as well as space for the Parry Sound Friendship Centre, One Kid’s Place, and a gym.
The additional 10 units proposed for lot at the corner of Rosetta Street and Church Street are not a part of this approval and will have to come back to council for approval.
