A total fire ban is on in the West Parry Sound Fire District. This morning, regional Fire Coordinator Chief Brian Leduc increased the Fire Danger Rating to Extreme because of the continued very dry conditions and recent fire activity over the weekend. The full fire ban means no open fires are allowed and both residential and commercial fireworks are banned. The ban will remain in place through until next week when the region is re-evaluated on Monday.
