A Seguin woman is facing a serious charge after her dogs attacked cottagers

Police have charged a Seguin woman after cottagers were attacked by two dogs.  Last Tuesday night, West Parry Sound OPP responded to a report of two dogs attacking and biting people in Seguin Township.  Officers heard two dogs entered a cottager’s property and attacked their dog, but when the cottagers intervened, the dogs attacked them and they had to climb onto their vehicle to escape.  The cottagers were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the dog was taken to the veterinarian.  The 30-year-old owner of the dogs has been charged with failing to prevent her dogs from biting or attacking a person or pet contrary to the Dog Owners Liability Act and will appear in court next month to answer the charge.  Anyone who is guilty of this offence faces a fine of not more than $10,000 or to six month in jail, or both.
