The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario is visiting Parry Sound today

Parry Sound will get a visit form the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario today.  The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell will be in town this afternoon for a tour of the town and a special meeting with council and area First Nations leaders.  At 2:30pm, Dowdeswell will meet Mayor Jamie McGarvey and local First Nations representatives at the Stockey Centre to view the newly unveiled Francis Pegahmagabow statue and meet sculptor Tyler Fauvelle.  She will then be a part of a closed session, round table meeting at 3:00pm with town council and staff, First Nations leaders, and the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve focusing on environmental and community projects in Parry Sound.  The visit wraps up at the Festival of the Sound concert, Classics by Candlelight where she will give introductory remarks.
