Magnetawan River Hatchery not closing yet

It looks like the Almaguin Fish Improvement Association (AFIA) is not going to lose their Magnetawan River Hatchery just yet.  Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller says the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has given them more time.

The hatchery has worked to improve the pickerel and walleye fish population in Ahmic and Cecebe lakes.  Miller says the association is interested in what else they can do help the MNRF.

Miller also says the association has great volunteers that are dedicated to this work.

The Magnetawan River Hatchery has been in operation for the past 35 years.
