Students at the new Francis Pegahmagabow Elementary School will be without a playground for the first month of school.
That’s according to officials with the Near North District School Board, who say playground equipment is slated to be delivered to the school on Sept. 21. The supplier has notified the board that this date cannot be moved.
According to officials, once the equipment arrives, installation is expected to take approximately one week.
A temporary fenced-in play area located at the front of the school will be available for student use. The athletic track will also be available for outdoor activities.
“We wanted to share this information with families as soon as possible so that everyone is aware of the latest timeline and knows what to expect at the start of the school year,” reads a statement from Board CEO Jay MacJanet.
