Whitestone to issue fines for parking violations at municipal boat launches

Residents and visitors who violate any parking restrictions or municipal regulations at public boat launches in the Municipality of Whitestone will be fined.
Municipal officials say, due to ongoing issues and repeated violations, bylaw services will no longer be issuing warnings for infractions. Tickets will be issued on the first offence.
According to officials, improper parking creates safety concerns, blocks access for emergency vehicles, and other users, and can negatively impact properties and roadways.
Users are reminded to:
  • Park only in designated areas
  • Obey all posted parking signs and restrictions
  • Use designated parking areas appropriately, as some spaces are reserved for vehicles with attached boat trailers while others are for vehicles only
  • Do not leave unattached trailers parked at boat launches or roadside areas
  • Do not block launch access points, roadways, or private driveways
  • Be considerate of other boat launch users and nearby residents
