OPP investigating fatal HWY 69 crash, roads have reopened

One person has died after a single-vehicle collision on HWY 69 last night (Tuesday, Nov 28).

West Parry Sound OPP says officers, paramedics and the fire department responded to the crash on the highway north of the Magnetawan River bridge shortly before midnight.

Police say the 65-year-old driver from Sudbury was pronounced dead at the scene.

OPP says the investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Northeast Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team, the Technical Collision Investigator and Reconstructionist and the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario.

The highway was closed in both directions for several hours but has since re-opened.
