One recovery, no new cases of COVID-19 in Parry Sound Friday

Two cases of COVID-19 remain active in Parry Sound after the local health unit added one recovery and no new cases on Friday.

In Nipissing, one new case and no new recoveries were added placing that district at four active cases of the virus.

The new case, currently self-isolating, is a 20 to 39-year-old associated with an outbreak.

As of Friday, 44 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in association with the Skyline-Lancelot Apartments Community Outbreak in North Bay, 39 of which have recovered, three individuals have died and two cases remain active.

In the health unit’s region two outbreaks remain active, the Skyline Community outbreak in North Bay declared on February 8th and the outbreak declared at the McDonald’s on 118 Bowes St. in Parry Sound on February 27th.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit did 721 tests for COVID-19 between Thursday and Friday.
