Ontario is investing another $382,000 to increase prevention and containment efforts in Parry Sound’s long-term care homes.

The MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka says the new funding will cover expenses for 24/7 building-health checkpoints. new staff and replacing sick or isolating workers. Norm Miller says the funding will also go towards more supplies and ramped up infection control measures.

The added funds are going to two homes in Parry Sound, $203,100 is going to Belvedere Heights, and $179,800 is going to Lakeland Long Term Care Services. That brings the total amount spent on prevention and containment support in both homes since March to just over $1.1 million.
