Hospitals across the country are in need of respirator masks and the West Parry Sound Health Centre hopes to put a dent in the local need.
Back in May 2018 the hospital’s auxiliary held a Garage Sale at the car wash on their property featuring a wide range of used, no-longer-needed, and expired items, including cartons of expired (N95) respirator masks. These were purchased by contractors, DIY home renovators, and others.
The West Parry Sound Health Centre is requesting if any of this supply remains in the community the WPSHC is very interested in receiving it back.
The use of expired N95s is one of many options being explored for the safety of patients and the health care team at WPSHC.
