Carling to hold public meeting regarding Vianet internet project

Carling is holding an information session this Thursday night to discuss the recent Vianet proposed internet project.

Vianet’s West Parry Sound Rural Broadband Project would see high speed internet brought to 150 underserviced residences.

Those residences would receive Fibre To The Home service, and properties outside the fibre build but in line of sight of Vianet’s tower would also have access.

This project will see Vianet extend their existing fibre network to a tower in the town of Parry Sound which will then be linked to a tower that will be erected this spring at 22 Bayview Drive, Carling.

Vianet says that the service would provide up to 50Mbps download and 10Mbps upload Fibre-to-the-Home service with no data caps.
