An extreme cold warning is in effect for the Huntsville, Baysville, Town of Parry Sound, Rosseau, Killbear Park, South River, Burk’s Falls, Bayfield Inlet and Dunchurch areas.
Environment Canada says a wind chill near minus 35 is expected overnight and into Saturday morning.
This bitterly cold Arctic airmass will remain in place through the weekend.
The cold air brings a significant risk of frostbite, which is greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.
Environment Canada says if you have to brave the cold, make sure as much exposed skin is covered as possible.
