School fundraiser brings in money for hot meals

High school students in Bracebridge raised $1,000 in a chilly fundraiser known as Teen Homeless Night.  The students attend St. Dominic Secondary School and the fundraiser involved a sleepover at the school.  But teacher Lisa Theriault says the students didn’t exactly spend the night inside the school, but rather outside.   Forty-five students took part in the outdoor sleep-over.  The money they raised goes to the Bracebridge Out of the Cold program which provides free weekly meals over the winter to those in need.  As for Theriault, she also took part in the sleep over but didn’t get much sleep because she spent most of the night watching over the students.
