Parry Sound Public School to partner with ReNature Foundation for kindergarten playground

Parry Sound Public School has secured a partnership with the ReNature Foundation to help guide and support the re-development of their kindergarten outdoor learning space.

The school community launched a fundraiser to replace the playground in 2022 after drainage issues with the current sandbox lead to the removal of equipment for safety reasons.

According to school officials, in addition to funding the installation of extended fencing to increase the size of the play yard, funds raise, combined with grant funding, will support the development of a future playground and outdoor learning space.

The ReNature Foundation is a Canadian non-profit organization that replaces asphalt schoolyards with lush micro forests and outdoor classrooms.

Officials say they are hopeful work on the project will begin with tree planting in the spring.
