WPSHC emergency department saw 18,973 visits in 2025

The West Parry Sound Health Centre emergency department saw 18,973 visits last year.

That’s according to 2025 Year in Review data released by the local hospital on Jan. 9.

The reports states that a team of more than 580 healthcare providers dealt with 9,233 outpatient visits, nearly 2,500 admissions, conducted just shy of 2,100 surgical procedures, delivered 73 babies and treated 11 snakebites.

“This past year has been one to remember,” states the report. “From large-scale equipment upgrades and an expanded service portfolio, to new members of the WPSHC family and changes to the health care infrastructure – 2025 has been a whirlwind of change. All of it was done with a single objective in mind: supporting good health in our community.”
