Hockey Day in Parry Sound to be celebrated March 30

A jam-packed day full of events is planned for Hockey Day in Parry Sound on March 30.

The Rotary Club has partnered with the Downtown Business Association for a party on James Street. A portion of the road will be closed off between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday for sidewalk sales, and a party with snacks and a variety of games.

“We are bringing street curling, we will have an inflatable top shot hockey, there is also a hockey shoot out net that will be at the James Street parking lot entrance and there is a winter fun inflatable carnival game coming as well,” said April Denman, executive director of the Parry Sound Downtown Business Association.

Local minor hockey teams will be playing games at the Bobby Orr Community Centre throughout the day, before the Maple Leafs Alumni take on the Parry Sound Shamrocks at 7 p.m.
