Tender for West Parry Sound Recreation and Cultural Centre project awarded to local company

The West Parry Sound Recreation and Cultural Centre Board has conditionally awarded the early works tender package to Parry Sound-based Wayne Hall Construction.

Officials say the step is a ‘significant milestone’ towards achieving the project’s forecasted completion winter 2026 completion date.

A motion was passed at a March 13 meeting to conditionally approve the $1.97 million contract, which was the lowest bid submitted for the tender package.

According to project manager Andy Gordon, the contract is the first of many that will be awarded, as the project has been broken down and will be tendered in chunks.

Gordon confirmed that site plans and various building permit applications have been submitted and are currently being reviewed by the Town of Parry Sound.

Early sitework at 44 Joseph Street could begin in mid-May.
