Paddling Film Festival to support Parry Sound pool project

White Squall’s annual International Paddling Film Festival and silent auction fundraiser will support the proposed West Parry Sound Recreation and Cultural Centre this year.

Tim Dyer, co-owner of the outdoor store and paddling center, believes the pool project is at a critical juncture in need of community support.

“We wanted to throw our support behind it and to encourage everyone in the community to get behind supporting the pool because we just felt the pool is a critical juncture right now. It is either going to go full steam ahead or it might falter if there isn’t a lot of good community support,” he said.

A silent auction featuring a wide variety of items and services is live online. It will run until March 23 – the night of the film festival. Final bids can be made in person at the Stockey Centre.

The festival will consist of cold beer, popcorn, live music and several feature films.

A kayak valued at $1,600 is also being raffled off. Every $20 donation to the pool fundraiser will earn you an entry into the raffle.
