Anishinabek Nation to discuss several land and resource topics

The Anishinabek Nation is hosting its 8th Annual Lands and Resources Forum in North Bay this week.

‘Kina-Gego-Naabadosin – Everything is Connected’ takes place Feb. 13-15 at the Best Western.

Officials say the forum will include presentations and discussions among Anishinabek Nation leadership, First Nations and citizens, government officials, industry experts, and academic speakers.

Objectives include establishing a regional framework around local and regional priorities, concerns, and opportunities.

Others include enhancing decision-making and increasing communications.

Along with critical minerals and mining, other topics on the agenda include agriculture and food security, forestry, energy, invasive species, and more.

Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Chief Reg Niganobe is one of the dignitaries who will be in attendance.
