Chamber of Commerce ‘building on 2023’s successes’

It’s a new year and the Parry Sound Chamber of Commerce says they want to continue building on all of 2023’s successes.

That’s according to Chris McDonald, executive director. He, other Chamber members, and dignitaries attended the Chamber’s 126th annual general meeting Tuesday morning.

McDonald says the area’s been a hotspot of activity over the last year and they’ve been fortunate to be at the frontlines of it. He says last year, the Chamber helped members learn new technology, find grant opportunities, help with housing and recruitment strategies, and more.

McDonald says membership jumped from 194 members to 238 last year, a 23 per cent increase. Among other reasons, he says that’s due to the visibility and presence of the Chamber.

With the new growth, he says the Chamber will soon have a new location to better serve their growing demand: 1 College Drive inside of Canadore. The goal is to be moved by early June.
