The week of November 5 in the Town of Parry Sound is now officially Treaties Recognition Week.
Town council carried a motion on Tuesday formally designating the week which aims to honour the importance of and promote learning about the agreements set between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
The move follows suit with the province, which passed legislation in 2016 declaring the first full week of November as Treaties Recognition Week.
