ERA Architects present three-pronged approach to restoration of Rosseau Memorial Hall

Designs of the Rosseau Memorial Hall’s new look are officially out bringing the project a step closer to shovels in the ground.

Seguin Township officials say after months of in-person and online engagement, consultants from Toronto based ERA Architects shared their proposed three-phase approach for the project with community members.

According to the firm’s presentation, the next step would be the release of the financial analysis slated for the end of October followed by a final report and recommendations set for the end of November.

Officials say the firm presented a summary of community survey and workshop findings, as well as the most urgent needs, and solutions to meet the community’s vision for the historic space.

The Township’s Director of Community Services Dominique O’Brien thanked everyone in the community who took the time to share their ideas and vision for the building.

“We know that many people feel very connected to this building and what it represents in our community. I’d like to thank ERA Architects for their thoughtful and thorough approach to crafting these designs. I believe our community feels they are very much reflected in the proposed solutions. We look forward to next steps,” O’Brien says.

The firm says phase one will focus on repairs and upgrades, phase two will include read addition to the building and phase three will be finalizing the new building which includes relocating the fire hall.

Phase one, which will cost at least $250,000, is expected to wrap up by the end of 2025, phase two, costing $1-2 million is set to be done by the end of 2027 and phase three, costing another $4-5 million is set to finish construction by 2030.
