Shawanaga FN Gas & Variety’s pumps closed after diesel/premium fuel mix up, reopen same day

***Correction made June 16

According to a letter posted to the FN’s Facebook page on Friday (June 16), the affected gas pumps were in fact reopened the same day (Monday June 12) they were closed, without delay.

If you’ve gassed up at the Shawanaga First Nation Gas & Variety between Thursday and Monday and you’re having car trouble, Shawanaga officials ask you to call them.

CAO Maria Voinovski-Boucher says after testing the pumps accordingly, it turned out the premium pumps were in fact filled with diesel and the diesel pumps were filled with premium fuel.

According to letters posted to the FN’s Facebook page, the gas station’s pumps were shut down on Monday after officials were made aware something was amiss with the gasoline.
