Traffic stop yields over $16k in seized drugs and cash, three charged with trafficking

Three men face drug trafficking charges following an OPP traffic stop early Thursday (March 17th).

According to the West Parry Sound OPP, officers stopped a vehicle around 2 AM on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township, north of Parry Sound.

Police say as a result, over $6,000 of suspected cocaine and fentanyl and over $10,000 in cash were found and seized. OPP say three men, a 44-year-old from Sudbury, and two 26-year-olds from Scarborough were arrested and charged with trafficking a schedule 1 substance.

The 44-year-old was further charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance and three counts of failure to comply with a release order. The two 26-year-olds were also further charged with one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 each, as well as counts for failing to stop for police, failing to comply with probation and a driving-related charge.

All three accused remain in custody and have court appearances scheduled for March 17th at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound.
