A person from Parry Sound has been arrested and faces multiple sexual-related charges after an investigation that started on Feb. 15.
Police say while investigating the initial sexual assault call, officers were alerted to two more victim complaints with offences dating back to Oct. 2020.
The person has been charged with five counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual interference, two counts of luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, two counts of invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age, two counts of transmitting sexually explicit material to a person under 16 years of age, assault, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Provincial Constable Joe Scali didn’t identify the person in the media release. “The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused as it is protected under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and to protect the identity of the victims,” he writes in a media release.
The accused has a yet-to-be-scheduled court date in Parry Sound.
