Near North Board’s PSW program expecting over 30 grads

100% of grads of the Near North Board’s Personal Support Worker (PSW) program have been offered employment.

That update from Craig Myles, Director of Education, in a report to the board at its recent meeting.

The program is now in its second session, with 34 graduates expected from the North Bay, Mattawa and Parry Sound classes.

The board says there will be a third session in Parry Sound while a new custodial services training program is set to begin next month.

Officials say like the PSW program, it also looks to fill a community need, this time for trained custodial workers.

The program is for adults 18 and older who have or are working toward their secondary school diploma.
