A cottage in Lake of Bays has been damaged by a fire. The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Department says they got the call just before one yesterday afternoon. Fire crews from Huntsville Station One helped Baysville Station 40 in fighting the blaze at a South Ril Lake Road cottage. The owners noticed smoke coming from the front and saw the sun room was completely engulfed in flames. The owners escaped through the back exit and suffered minor smoke inhalation. The fire is believed to be accidental, possibly started from wood stove ashes left outside the front of the building.
